How to Send a Video on LINE (Without Losing Quality)

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Tried to send a video on LINE only to find it won't go through, or arrives blurry? That's down to how LINE handles video. This guide shows you how to get around the limits and share in higher quality.

Two ways to send a video on LINE

MethodNotes
Send in chatEasy, but LINE auto-compresses it, so quality drops. Long videos may not send.
Send as a “file”Keeps quality, but watch the size limit and the recipient's save window.

※ LINE's specs can change; check the app for current limits.

Why quality drops or it won't send

When you send a video in chat, LINE automatically compresses it to save data, often lowering the resolution and bitrate so it looks rough. Very long or very large videos may not send at all. The key is to optimize it yourself before LINE does it for you — pre-shrinking it helps avoid heavy quality loss.

Fix it: optimize before sending

Our tools run entirely in your browser and never upload your video, so even private clips are safe.

① Make it smaller (compress)

The most effective fix. Lowering the resolution shrinks the size a lot without a big visual hit — 480p–720p looks fine on a phone.

▶ Open the video compressor

② Keep only what you need (trim)

For long videos, cut out just the part you want to send to save size and time.

▶ Open the trim tool

FAQ

Q. Do I need to upload my video anywhere?
A. No — our tools run in your browser and never send your video to a server.
Q. Can I do this on my phone?
A. Yes. Compress/trim in your phone's browser, then send on LINE. No app needed.
Q. How much does compressing reduce quality?
A. With “Standard,” the difference is small while the file gets much lighter.
